ITINERARY:

DAY 1:

Your holiday begins as you fly to the across the Atlantic and stay overnight in a US airport hotel. Typical US hubs to Belize include Atlanta, Houston, Miami or Newark.

DAY 2:

Fly into Belize at around mid-day and transfer to your hotel on the banks of Old River. En route, visit the nearby Baboon Sanctuary – actually a sanctuary for Howler Monkeys.

DAY 3:

Enjoy a day trip up Belize’s Old River spotting a variety of shore-side and water-based wildlife as you go. The end point of the boat ride are the magnificent Maya ruins at Lamanai, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour.

DAY 4:

Enjoy a day trip out to Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the best places in Belize to see a rich variety of birds. The Sanctuary protects endangered species including the Central American River Turtle and Black Howler Monkeys.

DAY 5:

Transfer to the Mountain Pine Ridge area, and enjoy the cooler air of the higher elevation.

DAY 6:

Enjoy a guided hike in the Mountain Pine Ridge area, with an emphasis on bird-spotting.

DAY 7:

Day at leisure in the Cayo District. Optional activities include a visit to Caracol – Belize’s largest set of Maya ruins and a good place for bird-watching, hiking and mountain biking

DAY 8:

Transfer to the Punta Gorda, located in the country’s most southern district of Toledo. Toledo is a lesser-visited area but one that is rich in wildlife and home to a variety of birds.

DAYS 9 & 10:

Time at leisure with options to enjoy a wildlife-oriented boat ride down Monkey River, hiking, bird-watching and cave swimming.

DAY 11:

Travel up the coast to Placencia, one of Belize’s prime beach locations. Relax on the beach with a stay of 4 nights.

DAY 12:

Enjoy a full-day snorkeling trip out to the Barrier Reef, the second-longest reef in the world after Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

DAY 13:

Day at leisure to relax on the beach or by the pool. Options for manatee-watching, whale-shark diving (April-June), fishing and watersports.

DAY 14:

At leisure in Placencia for some final relaxation and last-minute souvenir shopping before travelling back home.

DAY 15:

Transfer to Placencia airstrip for your domestic flight to Belize International airport ahead of your international flights home.
